If you're exporting organic products to Japan, you have 4 options for certification:
- Option 1: Certification and export under the Official Organic Assurance Programme. This covers plant products and processed foods of plant origin only.
- Option 2: Certification and export through a non-Japanese organic certifying body that is registered with the Japan Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
- Option 3: Certification and export through a Japan-based registered certifying body.
- Option 4: Export through private-label certification. This option is only available for products that don’t require the Japanese Agricultural Standards (JAS) logo.
