Fungus-like pathogen must be stopped

Kauri dieback is a fungus-like pathogen that can kill kauri trees and seedlings. We need to act now to protect our kauri forests from this disease.
Without any treatment or control tools, the only way we can save our kauri forests is to contain the disease in existing locations and stop the spread into healthy areas. So when visiting any kauri forest please clean your gear and stay on the tracks.
A collaborative effort needed
Managing the spread of kauri dieback is a collaborative effort among:
- tangata whenua
- MPI
- Department of Conservation
- Auckland Council
- Northland Regional Council
- Waikato Regional Council
- Bay of Plenty Regional Council.
