Forest Products Export Standards - Phytosanitary Requirements of Indonesia

Wood Products - Packaging

Import Permits or Declarations

Import permit NOT required.
Importation of wood packaging must be notified and presented to the plant quarantine inspector at the designated place of entry. Notification must be in writing using an official packing declarationofficial packing declaration . A treatment certificate is required.

Certification Requirements

Wood packaging material and dunnage must be marked in accordance with ISPM 15.

Phytosanitary certificate NOT required.
Prohibited Importations 
BarkWood packaging material and dunnage must be made of debarked wood in accordance with ISPM 15.
Insects

Wood packaging material must be free of quarantine pests . including insects from families:

  • Anobiidae
  • Bostrichidae
  • Buprestidae
  • Cerambycidae
  • Curculionidae
  • Isoptera
  • Lyctidae
  • Platypodidae
  • Oedemeridae
  • Scolytidae
  • Siricidae

Wood packaging material must be free of quarantine pests including the nematode:

  • Bursaphelenchus xylophilus

Concessional ReleaseWood packaging will be cleared upon inspection if marking and the physical condition of wood packaging matches the technical requirements, and the product is fee of quarantine pests.
General

Wood packaging material will be:

  • treated if it is not marked in accordance with ISPM 15, or if marking does not meet the technical requirements, or if it is not free of quarantine pests.
  • rejected if the entry point is other than the designated places of entry, or if it is not notified to the plant quarantine inspector at the designated point of entry, or if it is not free of bark, or if treatment is not available or desirable. Rejected wood packaging that is not exported from Indonesian territory within 14 working days will be destroyed.
The owner of the wood packaging material will bear all costs for treatment, rejection and/or destruction.
